1981 C10 Silverado 2WD 305 V8 with 120,000 miles, new electric fuel pump, new filters, new gas line all the way back, 4 barrel Rochester carburetor rebuilt.
Truck was taking 10-20 minutes to warm up, having rough idle until it warmed, then ran fine. Now it will not start at all, acts like it's not getting enough gas, but there's gas clear up to the carb, and even pouring gas in the carb doesn't get it going. Would bad plugs cause this? Or an ignition coil? I'm begging for ideas. Thanks, Kat |

Re: 81 C10 305 V8 Rough Idle No Start
How old is the carb. I had the same problems about two yrs ago on my 76. The rochestor quadrajet to me is the worst carb ever. i would try replacing it all together. I did and it cleared up everything, ran like a brand new truck.
Quadrajet all depends on your driving style, if your a heavy foot and get in and out of the gas alot, the carb will flood out and try to shut off. Just rebuild the one u got or what i'd do is change the intake and buy a nice edelbrock carb. Everything u need can be bought at the local part store. i'd just get away from the rochestor.
