Headlights Wont Come on Amymore

OK, so I've had my Cavy (96 Z24) for over a year now and I was driving down the street two nights ago and I realized I had no headlights. They both went out at the same time.

So the next day I went to NAPA to buy new headlight bulbs, and the guy at NAPA thought that my headlights both going out at the same time was odd.

I get home, put the new bulbs in; and NOTHING. All my other lights (rear, parking, fog) all function fine, but my headlights are not working anymore.

My fuses are all good.

Anyone know what I should do?

They told me to check the firewall, or follow wires from either the light control next to my stearing wheel, or from the lights themselves until I find a damaged portion somewhere. That is just a little too confusing for me, because I can't seem to follow them either way without running into some sort of blockage.

Any help would be great.

take a volt tester and pull the bulbs out and then turn them on and put the probes in the sockets to see what the power range it. if it's dead then it has to be messed up somewere, do you have tilt steering? if so try with teh headlights on to put the colum all the way up or down

Me and my girlfriends dad tried checking all the ends where the bulbs go in, and as far as we could tell they were all good.

What did you say I should check around the steering column?

i think he means that when u check the head lights take the steering column (if u hav tilt steering) and put it in the up(as far as it will go up) and take a reading. and do the same with the down position to see if any wires are proken or any thing

If you have tilt steering...... turn the lights on and the put the wheel all teh way up and then all the way down and see if it comes on. My wif'es old taurus if you had the steering column all teh way up there was no headlights but if you put it down half way there would come on. Then if you put it all the way down they went off again. Damn ford hated that car lol. But if you don't have tilt steering then forget everything i just said

It's a Z24--it has tilt. I'll try it later after I get home from school tonight. I'll let you know.

Thanks.
