this is a update on the custome cold air intake for the tbi cars, i was wanting to know if any body has done it yet, and if so how it works and any pics. I was thinking about doing it but what will i do about when it rains? i was going to put it behind the grill by the licens plate.

Re: cold air intake

on the tbi motors they have a tube that goes by the hood and it gets little air, so people have been making custome cold air intakes with like pipe that goes down by the bottom grill and have a scoop down there that gets the cold air, but i did not know if i was going to do it because i did not know what i would do if it would rain.

Re: cold air intake

i think he's talking about a running intake tubes down into the front grill (like inplace of foglights on an iroc)

Re: cold air intake

i don't think u would have any problem while driving in the rain. the air filter will catch large water drops. just be sure u don't shoot a garden hose up there or something like that . another alternative would be to use the dual inlet air cleaner from an L69 car (not sure if it would work on a tbi car but just another idea)

Re: cold air intake

You will find there are plenty setups for the 5.0 comaro you just have to search I just went with a open element K&N. Also look under performance section in this forum u will see more tbi mods.
