Road Trip

Im taking a break from a headache on the box im building to tell you guys about my wonderful road trip.

Yesterday the girl decided she wanted to go to wild adventures, its about a 1 1/2hr drive from my house stright up I-75. I didnt really want to go but hey, why not, she is paying for gas.

On my way to pick her up i caught an SRT-4. Admired it, and caught a stop light next to it, he had his windows down and i had mine down, i beep the horn and the conv went liek so:

Me: Nice car

Him: Thanks Man

Me: You taken it to the track?

Him: Yeah

Me: Whaddya run?

Him: 13.7 with a different set of tires and the spare removed and all that stuff.

Me: I didnt know they rand that stock, you got something else done to it?

Him: Yeah, Intake, Down pipe, up pipe, i have an exaust dump valve i open at the track and i had it tuned on a Dyno down in Orlando

Me: Cool

I Now take back what i said about all SRT-4 owners and aim it towards some SRT-4 Owners.

But wait, there's more

Another on JUST LIKE IT...or at least they where both black, windows down and all, caught him at a light but it was short and all i got to say was "nice car man" and him "thanks" but yeah.

On the way up i sawa brand new M5... I was crusing at about 80 in the far left hand lane when i saw a car comming up on me easily doing 120-130mph. He was a good 1/2 a mile back so in the spirit of wanting him to pass me on my side of the truck i switched over to the middle lane.

He passed us like we where standing still. looked like i was sitting on the side of the road and he passed me going 55-60mph. for thoes that cand do math 80+60=140mph. I had enough time to have a short moment of scilence, check out the dealer tags that where still on it, and notice it was cream white.

My next encounter woth mentioneing (sorta) was some idiotic drivers. Aparently trying to save gas is illegal in GA because gas prices are so great and the GA residence enforce it to the death. After just crossing the GA FL border i hit a red dodge dakota extended cab. Not thinking much of it i figure ive been breaking this air myself for half the way im gonna try and save some gas. i get in about 2- 2 1/2 car lengths behind him and take it down the interstate NASCAR style.

After about 3min of drafting they start to swerve from one side ofthe lane ot the other and then make an eratic lane change to the far lefthand lane, drop behind me really quickly. Im like WTF?

Next thing i know he is drafting off of me, or so i thought, so i carry on and catch up to a trail blazer and start drafting off of it, a VW bug comes in and starts drafting off of me after the Dodge moves into the land next to me and just kinda sits there.

We come up on a F450 King Ranch (practically a Semi) pupping a good 30ft-35ft or more horse trailer. This jackass in the Dodge gets up next to me and decides its time to try and bully me into the horse trailer, im boxed in so i start to slow down but he slows down as well and the horse trialer is doing 65 so i see how much balls he really has. I didnt want to slam on the breaks because the VW was being a nice little bug and i didnt want to cause a near rear end colision so i hold my grond, act liek to dont see him and then turn on my blinker to make a lane change into the far left lane.

then i look over and give him one of these

He backs off and i accelerate agian, make it around the horse trailer and down shift to 4th and take off. hit 5th at about 90 and just keep on going (man does the exaust make a differnce at high speed in 5th) trying to get away from this maniac, he follows suit but aparently mid 90's dakotas cant do 95. I do this for about 5min but i really dont like going that fast in my truck because the wind gets up under it and makes steering a little shakey.

So now he is nothing but a little red spec and i drop it back down to 80mph or so.

Aparently this jackass doesnt know when to give up, about 5min later he is back on my ass. Me, in no mood to fuck around, get into the far right hand lane and accelerate and leave him.

Finally my exit comes up and he just passes on by.

After a day of "fun" at the south's crappiest theme park we head to Amanda's house and have some dinner and all. then i head home at about 10:00.

Fog was horrible. For anyone who thinks they dont need fog lights i say drive a car that has them and turn them off and see how much ofa difference it makes at night in the fog. My god, and with the HID bulbs i have in mine it was 100% better than just low beams. But what i do have to tell you is DONT GET YELLOW FOG LIGHTS. and if you have yellowish head lights, change the damn bulbs. In the fog it is annoying as hell to other drivers. ever person who whas turning the fog pee yellow destoryed my visibility and strained my eyes when compared to theos with HID whites or blues.

Anyway, i get into town and i saw the biggest hunk of rice i know goes to my school. Early 90's pontiac sun birthwith a big wheen and white rims that look like they are made out of plastic. his system was vibrateing his tag more than it was making music and he was just bobbing his head away to the rattle. he had a nice buzzy exaust and it sounded like an Auto. Ill get a pic of it tomarrow if i can find it. i tried with all my might to catch a stop light next to him but i couldnt, i got 2 behind him and rode his hass like no ones business, he would take off kinda "fast" notice me not fading and hte buzz would commence and he coudlnt get away form me. Eventually i got next to him but my turn was commign and i didnt want to miss curfew.

So all in all that was it... hop you had fun reading.

Cliff Notes:

SRT-4
M5
Jackass in Dodge
Fog
Rice

Re: Road Trip

aren't those trucks fun over 90. my dad has one, it's limited at just over 100 but i don't think i'd ever want to take it higher. i did it with a friend in the car just to show him and it's pretty damn scary, every bump makes you think you're going to run off the road. that's why i keep it around 120kph (you do that math, i don't care much for mph, im canadian). too bad my dad doesn't want to modify it, it could be ever more fun.

But the best is driving one of those in the winter, i don't know how the winter is around where you are but after a foot of snow, with unplowed roads, it gets interesting. my first time driving it in the winter the tail came out on me so i countersteered, then as i was drifting around the corner, an suv comes along, so i go by him sideways, i nearly sit myself.

Re: Road Trip

Best ive seen that i can remember was like a 13.8 or .9. You also have to remember that your everyday SRT-4 driver cant put it into the 13's stock

Im not saying they cant, im just saying what i can remember.
