The Invisible Car! F50 CLEARVIEW

Following on the number of Ferraris posted recently (jimbob's 360, Vric's F1, snowboarder's F50) I add my own! Hope you like.

For comparison...maybe I'll add the battery in the future.

The front bumper just doesn't want to stay on

Pretty accurate kit, as far as I'm concerned!!

Wonder how much a real F50 with clear, fiberglass panels would cost.. And how much bodywork would cost on it!!

Cool... But why the rear fenders and the engine cover is wooden? You made that yourself or the kit was like that?

That's a composite material of carbon Fiber/kevlar, it's what the entire shell of the F50 is made of. Stronger and lighter than steel, and perhaps aluminum. The entire F50 shell weighs only like 250 pounds...

Tamiya included decals for the rear wheel wells and some parts of the engine, as well as the interior. All the F50 pics didn't show the carbon fiber/kevlar for the engine but I put it on because I thought it looked cool..

A different but awesome Ferrari F50.
Most of the time people just see the exterior of our work not imagine all the hard work we have with interiors, engine, suspensions etc.
This way we can show them how complete the art of modelling is.
Excellent work daggerlee.

Man!! That's really a cool and unique model!
First time see a model is transparent, totally different from the other F50s done.

But, what is the manufactorer?

Fantastic, Dan!!! It's really an incredible showpiece! Someone needs to photoshop it in front of a "computerized" green and black grid... That's just about the only "realistic" setting I can imagine.

Thanks for the comments guys!
Forhod - It's made by Tamiya. Tamiya will often release certain kits with the body parts molded in clear, mostly race cars, I also have a Toyota GT-ONE in clear-view.

Thumbs up

Nice job dude.

:jump:

Is carbon fiber/kevlar composite brown? I always thought it was black/grey in color.

One of my good friend has a neighbour with an F40 (a real one). Sounds real fierce.

:sun:

That car can break the speed limit in this country in 2nd gear.
