Tamiya F1 2000 *PIC*

Here is what i was working on for the last month.
This is the 20048 Ferrari F1-2000 from Tamiya. This is one of the best kit I saw from tamiya so far. The only real problem is the white decal that "crack" very fast for nothing. So the Rear Wing was painted in White since it was horrible with decal. Body made with Airbrush Clear Red Acrylic from Testor and 2 coat of lacker. The paint over the rims cracked a bit, but it's still look good i think.

Let me know what you think !

Porsche GT3 will be finished this week (done at 90% right now), after it's the Porsche Boxter and the new Mini Cooper at the end.

After that it will depend of the stock that tamiyaking can get ;-) (Tamiya model: 24192, 24195, 24209, 24220, 24238, 24241 are what I would like to do after)

woah, nice F1. i have a question though, how did you get that tiny lettering on the rims?(BBS) unless its a 1/8 scale model, then i have no clue how you did it.

It's Plain Decal... tamiya give them with the kit.. they are in the wrong side, but I prefer like that

Looks like you have spent awhile doing a good jod on engine detail. Is most of it built straight from the box??

Yea. But I didn't put some decal (not the same red as my model so it looked crap) I also added some detail on the engin but it's not accurate. just for look

Thumbs up

Very nice.

Got an F2001 myself. But it does not look as nice as yours. For some reason I had a lot of problems with the fit, especially the nose section, where the cockpit/nose assembly joins to the chasis and the engine cowling.

I think maybe Tamiya made the tolerances too tight and I gave it too thick a coat of paint.

didn't ge this problem. the nose was very loose... i need to glue it cos it fall all the time....

Only the engin fit very tight... it's not even glued i can't move it anymore ;-)

but it's the 2000 not the 2001 (probably the same modem with a new nose and seltbelt.
