difference between blocks

i currently have a b16 complete sitting in the garage but befor dropping it in i want to get either a gsr or typer block. are there noticible gains with the typer or am i better off getting a gsr since there are more common. oh and is there a difference with the jdm version, or is the difference just in the head.
thanks

Re: difference between blocks

well the type R has a higher CR and a little better flowing head....the price difference is going to be about $1000 from a GSR to an ITR.....personally i would go w/ the GSR and build from there....
