Racing For Pinks

I just had the most halarious thing i've ever seen in my life happen today, i just spent 2 days tuning my new 350 in my 80 trans am, and put a custom racing k&n air cleaner up through the hood where the shaker was, so now i got kind of a ram/cold air thing going on, and new plugs, wires, removed all the pollution stuff, new intake manifold, and some other stuff too.

anyway, i went on a little road trip to a city i used to live in, just to visit some old friends, and today when i started home, about half way there, i see this car flying through traffic behind me, and of course, with my new engine comes a new ego so i'm obviously at the front of the pack, and he comes right up behind me, slows right down to the speed i'm going, and pulls up beside me, i look over and there's this kid with a riced out civic, had a body kit, underglow, looked like about 18 inch rims, and a muffler the size of a stove pipe, i just started to laugh, and then he goes into his glove box, pulls out his pink slip, puts it up to the window, points at it, then points to the 2 miles of open road we got ahead of us on the 4 lane highway, so i nod my head, and he drills his gas, i put my foot about half way down, we stayed neck and neck, he thought he was giving me one hell of a fight until i punched it right to the floor, all four barrels opened up, and the old thunder chicken went roaring by him like he was standing still. needless to say i didn't want the car even if he would've given it to me, i'm 100% anti-rice, so i just kept going until he was just a dot in my rear view.

my most hated car in the entire world is the civic, cause every 16 year old kid slaps a 1 inch i.d. 250 inch o.d. muffler on them and thinks he has a race car, so far i've destroyed a couple skylines, an eclipse or two, an evo, a lot of mustangs, and alot of other little ricers, but the feeling blowing by that civic was the next best thing to sex.....

Re: Racing For Pinks

Nice kill man I hate ricers especailly civics. The only thing those things are good for is the 30+ mpg they give in the city and god knows what on the highway. If i had to pick a ricer id go with the EVO that to MAYBE. anyway NICE KILL!!!!!!

Re: Racing For Pinks

If I had to buy a Jap. car, I would by the Mazda 6, because they're joint with Ford. Plus it has 4 doors (must have with kids).

I've got an even more embarrising kill (for the other guy). I was in my wife's old car 99 Olds Intrique 3.8. Some punk in a Nissan Sentra comes up next to me at a light and revs it up to about 20,000 rpm. I guess he saw my "I'D RATHER BE DRAG RACING" license plate frame. He was with me untill about 15 MPH, then I was gone! He had the coffee can for a muffler, satelite dish for a spoiler. Oh yeah, he also had stupid spinnas. All I had was my daughters Whinnie the Pooh sunshade in the sidewindow for him to see.

Pinks starts back up on Feb. 22!!!!!!
I can't wait!!!!!!!

Re: Racing For Pinks

cudos to the rice killing nation. i am proud. perhaps one day i will find some detroit muscle that will take me on... granted i only have my lowly cougar, to keep the local rice at bay. WISCONSIN NEEDS MORE MUSCLE CARS.

Re: Racing For Pinks

Wow guys, what's with the rice hating. I used to hate rice, and through out all of the f bodies i've owned, (like 11 different ones now) i have had fun beating them. But a buddy of mine ownes a civic that runs high 11's (with 125 of nos) so I kinda of respect them for being there own thing. What i have against them is that they don't make any power most of the time, if you have a passenger that weighs 150 lbs your import is a second slower in the quarter (exagerated, i'm sure, but heY) so I'll stick with a v8 that could tow a small trailer to a 15 second run and still beat a typical civic, lol. Thanks for posting.

Re: Racing For Pinks

the rice hating is because, why get a civic with 110hp and spend 4,000 on getting it "fast" when you can get a stock trans am with 320hp stock. I don't get it. And with little mods like less then 500 probly you can have it up to 400hp. And like somone els said on here, all kids think they can get a little jap car like a civic and put a huge fart can on it and be a race car driver. I am not trying to be so mean but it just seems like all of these ricers do this.

Re: Racing For Pinks

hehe the 11 sec running honda isnt rice. thats a race car. rice = fat muffler, custom CAI, giant rims, body kit, spoiler.

any car that runs faster then 13's arent rice at all....(with a few exceptions..)

Re: Racing For Pinks

I've always hated rice... and fords, i have a custom license plate that says "The Mustang Killer" but ya, ricers are all show and no go, talk to any kid driving an import, and ask him how much horsepower his cold air intake and momo muffler add to his car, the reply is usually priceless, i've heard kids tell me upwards of 75 hp lol

I showed a thunderbird who's boss yesterday, he came up beside me and started to rev his engine, we were going about 50kph and i had 2 coffee's in my hand, not a good time to race, i put my foot to the floor, my tires broke loose and i smoked'em for about 40 feet, then let off and slowed back down to 50kph, he just stayed a little ways back and didn't bother me again lol.

The ricer population is increasing at an alarming rate, people even rice american cars like cavaliers, neons, sunfires, sunbirds, etc, but they're not even imports, so i guess instead of rice that makes them some kind of salad or something.

I personally take it upon myself to try and show as many people as possible in the most public places possible that there is just no beating good old american muscle, and hopefully those kids will go home and say "daddy, i want a trans am when i grow up" instead of "yo pops i wants a fly ass civic like my homie when i grow sum chest hair" ... i'm also against people who wear their hats at a 45 degree angle, tilited up, with their pants around their knees

p.s.
i type alot...

Re: Racing For Pinks

i mostly agree with ... fuzzy_C... but the one thing i think that gives some of the small budget cars some edge is how light they are. my friends camaro could never take the turns i took when i had my laser. and i dont dare try take those corners anywhere as fast as my friend in my cougar (< nearly 2 tons of metal going that fast, around a corner. tires say no) around windy country roads, and hills (like eastern ky if you have ever been that way) the compact actually has a better run, but its because of weight in that game... not power. but i still love to see a bow tie, or blue oval, or ram blow any rice , or cocky compact off the road.

Re: Racing For Pinks

I quit racing them. I have a 400 with stock non ported #16 heads and the car looks like crap but you cant ague with the torque of Pontiac. This engine was built in 1991 for $999 by Napa, the heads have $300 , I am running a stock TH350 with a $250 Hughes converter. Talk about surprising 1/4 mile times. How about 1.67 seconds 0-60 ft times with a 12.60 @ 105.7
My fastest MPH is actually 107.1 so 12.5 second 1/4s are there. I installed a nitrous kit I bought used and did 12.10 @ 112 and then did a 12.2 @ 114. 1 so 11s should be there without the spinning I had. Not bad for a low budget Firebird that you can drive anywhere on pump gas. Screw the rice! I wont even bother. It doesnt proove anything. Now race a Viper or a Z06 Vette and talk about it.
