Engine vibrations & suspension problems.

Hi, I'm a new owner of 90 Celica GT-S, engine 5sfe, automatic transmission, and my problem is that when I'm driving, I feel the engine vibrations in my car (that aren't the normal vibrations), the engine sounds great, but I feel the car vibrating too much, my brother told me that I have to check the engine supports, but I don't know, what the f... do you recomend me to do?
The other problem is my transmission, normally, driving at 65mph takes my engine aprox. 2400 RPM, sometimes I'm driving at that engine speed, but the problem is that I don't understand why my engine speed goes up to 2800 RPM to go to the same speed, in other words, I loose power. What can I do to fix it??? Sorry about the explanation, but I'm still learning english. Thanks for all.

ive had the same vibration for the last 2 years that ive owned my 92 celica (5sfe). Ive tried so hard to find out what the problem is but still have not. So if you find out, let me know . As far as you transmission, it sounds like its not kicking into overdrive, thats why it stays at 2800rpms and doesnt kick down to 2400rpms. My transmissions sticks a little like that when i first start it up, it wont kick into overdrive until i driveit around for a few minutes. Ive had the transmission fluid and filter changed but it didnt do any thing...i may just have the whole thing flushed out. Hope this helps.

ya, i've felt some vibrationsi n my friends car, she has a 91 celica 5sfe

i didn't see anything wrong when I looked at her car, I wouldn't worry to much about it unless the vibrations get worse

Yeah, I think the old motor mounts could cause the problem, and with the transmission problem, I'll make a major check and change of oil to it. I want to clean the inside part of the engine, what product could I use for it??? Thank you for all again guys, your help is very appreciated.

Re: Engine vibrations & suspension problems.

what part the inside of the engine? Like the combustian chamber or the oil? There are different detergents for the cumbustion chamber, but if you want to clean the inside of the motor where the oil is you have to get an engine flush.

you could also get magnetic drain plugs, they are pretty much just magnets and help to pull out the metal shaving that come up from wear

Re: Engine vibrations & suspension problems.

I hear its not a good idea to flush your engine using one of those chemicals...

Try www.celicatech.com. Search for post containg "Seafoam." There's a lot of info there about using the Seafoam product to flush out the combustion, fuel, and lubrication systems. Many enthusiasts swear by it.
