Raced A Stroked 5.0

ok so last night i was on the highway couple of friends and i just got out of hooters a friends 18 bday. ok so we were all messeing aroung when this 5.0 comes up to my friend in his little 240 and pick's on him they guy might of thought he had something because he had three guages and a tach. my friend the one that was in the car said that the stang was stroked i was like whatever i want a peace of him. so i flash the lights so my friend can move he did i was in 3rd going 60 get next to the stang and he guns it so i floor it to. i shifted at 5500 rpms i think because i thought it was going to be a peace of cake. so im in fourth and he is about a half a car in back and in fourth at 4500 rpms he starts to pull on me little by little he creeps up. when he gets next to me my car is already about 5500 rpms and i keep it in fourth we are now going like 110 115 so i keep going and i start pulling on him the passenger guy was just stunted i mean his face was like he never seen anything like that before. so i turn give a lil smile and we are now at 125 128 the car stay's back a half a car myabe a lil more my exit was right there so i hit the breaks and take the exit the guy keeps on going throw's the peace sign and his hazards. even though i beat him i know some of you all might think why not shift at redline but ever since i raced a lotus elise and missed my gear at redline and i saw my rpms go to 8000rpms i don't want that to happen anymore. that's why i dont take it to redline. anyways tell me what you think.

Re: Raced A Stroked 5.0

shift close to redline, missing a gear and flooring it will send it to 7300 rpm, unless you manage to downshift, then shit hits the fan no matter what.
