Tamiya Adhesive Residue

Hi, after masking my Tamiya Rx7 shell with Tamiya 40mm and 6mm, I've discovered the 40mm leaves a bit of adhesive residue.
Would washing it off and then rewaxing be good? I've already polished and waxed the body before putting it on.

Are you sure it's residue? I've found that it can mark paint that's polished but not completely dried. I recently had a model that was perfectly polished out, I masked it w/Tamiya tape and brush painted window trim, and when I removed the tape it had lightly "etched" the surface of the paint. It wasn't adhesive. I used to think this was caused by the paint I was applying over the tape, this proved that it was a reaction of the tape to the paint...and it was Tamiya spray...but it wasn't thoroughly dry. Anyway, I polished it out w/the old Tamiya compound (not sure what the old compound is vs. the new compounds that come in 3 variations). You can have a polished paint job that isn't fully cured, and taping it will cause reactions even if it's not residue.

I'm pretty sure it is cos the shell has been painted/ polsihed for a couple of months now, Tamiya spray blue lol.
Been lazy, had some freetime lately so I whacked out my new airbrush ;d

something weird happened to me too, Tamiya masking tape etched my revell camaro window and it was just bare plastic.
