2002 318i - mileage too high?

I'm looking to buy an used 3 Series Touring and I have seen one advertised locally in my price range but I'm concerned that the mileage is very high.

It's a 2002 318i SE (manual) with 160000 miles on the clock. It has a full BMW service history. I have not seen the car in the metal but from photos it looks to be in very good condition.

Is this car worth considering? If so, are there any specific questions worth asking about or certain things to check?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Cheers,
JT

Re: 2002 318i - mileage too high?

if its not to far to travel, i would check it out.

my dad drives about 40k miles a year. he doesnt drive that much. 100 mile round trip a day. (+ sometimes abroad). times that by 3 and you're on 120k. the car you are checking, has done +- 53k a year, so thats a 120 mile trip a day orso. if youre on a tight budget, and you can get it for a good price, then i would do it i think. just check the service history 2x.

Buy if its cheap. Everything has its price. If the price is right you get what you paid for. With this kinda mlg it should go rela cheap, otherwise noone will buy it.

Also take into consideration that it ws probably highway driven which is not the bad. The engine and tranny should still be alright for another 70000 at least.

Huge discount=buy Bad price= no buy
