4.3w poppet nozzle,Tryin to get to open

Upper intake off. Can some one tell me if i turn the key over to try to start truck with a poppet nozzle in a small cup if gas should shoot out.I have new f/pump and gas up to the test port.I took a poppet out of the hole but gas does not run out.
complete cpi unit replaced in september, fuel pump last week.

First thing disable the coil so it will not get spark to plugs or it will self distruct when you crank it.
Just gas at test port will not get it.
To get the fuel injector to squirt you have to have full fuel pressure. not even 2-3 lbs low.
If you have full fuel pressure and injector pulse to injector unit then crank it and the injector nossel should squirt out gas.
It will not pour out but should shoot out a fine mist.
Also them pressure and return plastic lines look kinda brown. If they have not been replaced now is the time to do it.
What was the reason you pulled the upper intake?

What year?
Have you got a good accurate fuel pressure gauge handy?

I caught your lower post on it being a 95.
Fuel specs are 55/61 on it.
Make sure you have 60 on a cold crank.
Also get a node light and check for injector pulse when cranking at the injecter unit and make sure the wire plugin and wire going to it is good.
Also pinch off rubber fuel return line and make sure the pressure goes up to 75-85 lbs of pressure.

reason on pulling upper intake is because the whole cpi was replaced in september.I installed new fuel pump this week. truck wont start unless you use starting fluid. truck runs fine after started with s/fluid.
I installed new pump truck ran 2 days.now i have good fuel pressure and fuel up to the test port.So i wanted to see if the injector was working.Did ya notice the fluid laying at the bottom? it was there when i removed upper intake.is this left over starting fluid,or is this not so old cpi unit going south on me?

Can not tell for sure but starting fluid should dry up.
Pinch off you fuel return line and get the system pressure way up and watch for any leakage anyplace.
Let us know how it goes.
