92 z34 starting issues

Hey all, looking for some suggestions for an intermediate problem im having with my 92 lumina z34 3.4 dohc.
Seems that when its a little wet outside it does not want to start,Allthough its not always the case? I say that because it doesent always do it ,but it never does it when its dry outside.
Have to keep turning over and over while pumping the gas all the way to the floor.
Sometimes it will start before im in need of a boost and sometimes it wont.
It has a bad knock sensor( its throwing that code at me now and then)
Could the knock sensor be my starting problem? But if it is why only when wet outside?

Ive also had the car suddenly die on me while driving for no apparrent reason? (It starts right back up).

Any help on this one is appreciated!

Mike

check for spark when it doesnt start. Its most likely ignition related. Maybe a bad ignition module.

Ok it happened again today, not really wet out but a little snowy.
it almosst souds like popcorn popping in the motor then it starts up,
leaving a distinct smell of unburnt fuel behind.
I was in a rush today so no time to investigate the problem.
Just posting my (whats going on)
Ive seached high and low in this forum and found similar post that have been abandoned.
Please help me out and i promise i wont leave this post without a culprit!

Hey rockin88- I have a 91 lumina that does that same exact thing only sometimes when I try to start it it's almost like the battery cables are loose or something, I have checked that and I am just as stumped as you are, seems to only happen when it's damp outside and dies for no reason but starts right up again, If you ever find out what the **** it is let me know, and I'll do the same
