brake lights out (1988 N/A)

my brake lights will not come on when i hit the brakes...im guessin its a relay or a fuse...if it were the relay....would my taillights come on at all?....exactly what do you guys think the problem is here???

note: id check to see if it were a fuse...but my car has a flat and the dirver side is in the street....its a pain to get to that fuse box on the inside under the fender.

The Relay Could Be Bad The Box Should Be Under The Hood It Would Be A Black Box About As Big As Your Hand. Or It Should Be On The Drivers Side Under The Dash Board.
