Thumbs up I just received my $5000 Thousand Dollar Pay Back from General Motors Inc...

I purchased a 1996 LS 2dr. 4x4 Chevrolet Blazer Off Road Vehicle back in
1996 After 29000 miles and almost 34 months I had my HUB and WaterPump
break down AC Generator Alternator AC Compressor Air Conditioner and
4x4 Transfer System including the Ball Joints upper and Lower and Stablizer
Bars all cost and totals $5000 thousand dollars.. NJ Lemon Laws assisted me
with the arbitration and settlement. I have No Faith in General Motors...
At least I got my money back...
Beware of Global Auto Mall of North Plainfield NJ Do Not Buy Cars Trucks or
Vehicles from this dealership.
I placed the $5000 thousand dollars receipt check in a silver frame and hung it over my Wastebasket...Everytime I throw something in the garbage I will be
thinking, GM..... where everthing it builds belongs...
ps, watch the GM recalls they are popping up on all the 2004 2005 2006 Trailblazers 2WD and 4WD

Glad that you got it man.

It isn't just that stealership. None of them ever want to deal with a lemon, and most will charge you for all the repairs if they can.

The odd one will stick up for the small guy knowing that it isn't his fault. They're really the ones that we should be using word of mouth advertising to promote.

Why wasn't it repaired under warranty? Or did I misunderstand about all that occured during the first 34 months and 29,000 miles?

It's basicly the dealers decression if they cover anything under warranty. They can always say that you abused something or didn't maintain it properly and it's pretty hard to prove them wrong.

hey hey hey now, if it wasn't for the gm 'build it out of plastic... cheep plastic' motto, i wouldn't have a job lol... kidding aside, sorry it took a decade to get your money back, and opb, not sure on how the internationl thing goes (or if its even considered international because of nafta) but a factory warrentie is covered by the dealer, raise enough hell and they will be kissing their franchies bye bye

I agree with you DM, but if they figure that they can say you never greased the truck or it looks like you were hitting curbs they'll reject your warranty.
GMC will never take their franchise away if that's their argument.

The best way to not have warranty problems is to take it into a shop for service. It doesn't have to be the dealership for the service, just a shop. Then you've got a record of the mileage when everything is done.

For the DIY people out there the dealer will often expect you to use only GM replacement parts for the warranty period. Again so they can roughly calculate if it's done during the recomended periods.
The biggest thing here is if you've gone 15,000 miles and your suposed to change the oil every 3,000 miles they want to see that you've bought 5 oil filters from them.

If you figure that something should be a warranty issue and the dealer still hands you the bill telling you to pay that's when you should really ask for the parts.

the thing that i've noticed with warranties is that there is always a catch (we will fix it... if...). If a vehicle is in for warranty work, the dealer (or other facility) is not making money doing the repairs.

The local car dealer gave the police a car for community policing duties. (Special event and school vists) THey signed a contract that they would take care of all repairs to the car as long as it served with the police. Well we were having troubles with the tranny. We took it back to the dealer and the give us a huge bill. Something like $5000. So we pull out the agreement and they give us a bunch of BS that they would never sign something like that. Well after a bunch of throwing the contract back and forth they say they will fix it. Well 3 months later the car sits in the parking lot untouched. They say they are really busy and havent had a chance to get to it. Nice eh? Thats how the treat the police. Well its most likey not the best people to screw lol. I would hate to see how they would treat a regular customer. Dealerships only look out for themselves and no one else.

Same thing happened with me from a used car dealership called car max. I bought my 99 GMC Sonoma with a horrible tranny and rear end leak. They took 4 weeks to fix it!!!!

Re: I just received my $5000 Thousand Dollar Pay Back from General Motors Inc...

I had purchased a used Isuzo Rodeo from a local used car lot. On the day of my 2nd installment payment, the motor blew. I bought the truck with a 6-months/6,000 miles warranty, that would cover *any* engine/driveline malfunction. So I brought the firebomber back, smoking and sputtering - with a diagnosis sheet from my mechanic and a quote for a new crate motor. Man, they gave me hell over it. Wouldn't honor the warranty, let alone speak to me face to face (the management) when I asked. They played the "Waiting game" with me, saying that they would meet with my just after noon to discuss this "claim" of mine. I waited until 3:00 PM until I decided, upon some social engineering and finding the location of their regional office; to drive that lemon straight up their asses. I parked it on their front lawn, drew out my laptop and rolled a cigarette. I started documenting whom I spoke to, names, numbers, what was said up to that point and then walked in the front doors of the home office.

Needless to say the management was not pleased to see me there when they did their best to get rid of me or ignore me. I got my face to face conference, the fellow was a bear of a man - shaking, swearing and cursing the entire time at me. My sweet little laptop with a copy of Cooledit dropping the entire conversation to disc in MP3. Anyway, long story short, they were not going to honor the warranty at all until I got a second opinion on the engine. I had it that day, half an hour later - FAXED to their office no less.

Some more dickering, hassling about, etc - but at the end of the day I had my new, total replacement vehicle....my current Blazer.

I kiboshed these fools, along with transcripts of conversations, who I spoke to, etc.etc.etc... on a few various car review sites, even posted the same data in my LiveJournal.

These people within a month were unable to sell a single car out of their lot. It now stands a year later, still closed down, nobody willing to move their business into the vacant spot. You'd be surprised what you can do when push comes to shove, and the fun part? I never threatened legal action - I pinned them like insects under their own warranty and clauses.
