Well there been so many companies that make nitrous kits which one is the best? What's better dry/wet system? And how much can a stock lt1 take? I was planning on getting a new cam and porting/polishing the heads with a rebuild. Is the lt4 hotcam a good choice if i decide to get a nitrous system?

There are so many companies that make nitrous, there is no such thing as a 'best one'. Just look for something that meets you requirements and don't crap out on the cheapest one. Make sure that you get a fuel safety switch and a window switch with whatever nitrous system you pick up. As far as wet or dry, depends on how much power you want to squeeze. A dry kit will suffice for 100-125hp while a wet kit is good for 50-200hp range, but for anything more than 250hp, you may want to consider direct-port. As far as spraying a stock engine, I have no idea. Wait for some of these other guys to answer. I just picked up the January '06 edition of GM High-Tech Performance and it was a special issue that had a bunch of articles on the laughing gas. I suggest you pick one up, a lot of good stuff in there, plus the cover kicks ass (A red '05 GTO and red '01 WS6 purging).

I'm not giving you attitude, I'm trying to enforce that you should know what you're doing with any mod, all the ins and outs, ups and downs of it; how it behaves in any situation... nothing wrong in being more educated and prepared for whatever may go wrong. Plus trying to make sure you don't blow yourself up. You should probably do more research if you don't know the differences between wet and dry systems and which is better when.

Err, speaking of attitudes, dude, that kind of a statement is not going net you much help at all.
Some folks around here take some getting used to in understanding how their typing translates how they'd be saying it to you in person, you know iif someon's just bust'n your balls or whatnot. |

Well if your car is pretty much stock get a dry system with a 50-100 hp shot it will be safe.and to tell you the differance beteen a wet and dry system is that the wet system adds more fuel to the mix of nos.

Like I said, takes some getting used to. If you've been around car guys long enough, you know there's different ways to communicate yourself.
However, he really didn't come off that bad and had a somewhat valid point, and most of all, said "honeslty" and "please" in the same sentence, forget the same post! edit, I sence an f-u headed my way meaning thanks for clarifying that

Ok.. Now that the thread is seriously off topic... I'll do my best to explain all I know about nitrous systems...
There are 2 main types of nitrous systems- Wet and Dry A Dry system does nothing more than spray a certain amount of nitrous into the intake manifold. This causes a turbocharged effect to the engine because nitrous oxide is an oxidizer. It acts as liquid air, "increasing" the volumetric efficiency of the engine. The problem with dry systems is that you will have to run your engine rich at all times, or wire in a controller that will increase fuel output for as long as the nitrous kit is active. Wet nitrous systems introduce both nitrous oxide and fuel into the intake manifold. This allows for much more power potential, because you are no longer limited to the amount of extra fuel that your vehicles normal fuel system can put out. Wet systems are a bit more complex than Dry systems, due to the extra plumming and sometimes wiring involved. As far as brands, NOS and Zex are the 2 that I am most familiar with. Zex kits are most often always armed, and activate the nitrous at or near full throttle operation. NOS kits are much more, "do-it-yourself" and are more flexible in applications with a little creativity. The choice is really up to you as far as what you want/need. I agree with most of the others in saying that you shouldn't go over a 100hp kit for a stock engine. Anything higher and you definitely need an ignition delay box, and internal strengthening.
