Hi,
I have a 91 Astro that has great tinted windows but they don't open to let air in. Does anyone know if there is a kit or conversion brackets to make them become the opening type. My friend has the same van with windows that pop open, so I measured his windows and they are the exact same size as mine. If anyone has accomplished this for their van or know of where or how to do it. Any suggestions would be appreciated??????? Thanks, Mermaid1 Last edited by mermaid1; 09-22-2005 at 03:26 PM. |

Re: Side & Back Windows Don't Open?
If he has the same year model as yours, you could certainly buy the parts to do the conversion. However, you'd have to replace the glass as well. Once glass has been tempered (as in safety glass) you can't drill holes in it without it shattering.
It'd be easier, and cheaper, to put a vent on the roof of the van.

yeah, i suggest you go to the junkyard and get the windows out of another van, just make sure you get all the brackets and rubber trim,i did mine and all i had to do was drill a few holes..
