Engine Problem

On my 95 s10 Blazer the engine is loosing power can hardly pull a hill smells very rich fuel mix I had it scanned and misfire on cyl 3 history code poped up.
I replaced the plug after a HUGE ballbusting(lol) but the problem persists, my question is this I'm gonna replace the wires to see if that fixes it if that dosnt work does anyone have any sugestions or seen this problem? reading some of the other posts could it be the ignition controll modual
Joe

Re: Engine Problem

If it's a W code motor. You need to fix the CPI. Don't chase wires and plugs till you fix the fuel system.

Re: Engine Problem

It's worth a few bucks to replace the fuel filter if you haven't done it in the last couple years. Its on the drivers side, mounted inside the framerail, about halfway back (across from the transfer case). Can't miss it.

When you pulled the plenum, was only one side washed, or were both sides?

It's quite possible you got a bad unit. Or it wasn't just the regulator that was bad. Other issues could be clogged EGR and/or fouled plugs. Since your regulator was leaking and dumping fuel you could have easily fouled the plugs and/or clogged the egr. I would also consider doing a full tune up...

Plugs
Wires
Cap
Rotor
PCV
Fuel Filter (every 15-20k)
Pull and clean the EGR (wire brush and carb cleaner)
Air filter

Well replaced the fuel filter still have the problem seems like longer engine runs worse it gets runs ok at idle but bogs down when you hit the gas pedal. Converter maybe? also i checked inside the plenium and it looks to be dry inside there?
