How Many Miles Does Your 4.3 Have
I thougth it would be interesting to see how many miles people have on their 4.3 without a rebuild..please mention if its a tbi or vortec and how well is it mantained and last how do you drive it?

I have a 95 with the vortec that just turned over 98k miles. Only mechanical things changed were the fuel pump, alternator, the the lower intake gaskets, and the exhaust come some warmer weather. Along with usual maintenance parts.

i got a 95 jimmy with 205,000 miles on it. i don't abuse it but im not affraid to let it scream once and a while. its got its issues and i may bite the bullet and get rid of it soon.

Well original 4.3 in the 91 went 169 and change.
The V8 went all of 15 miles.

1996 2 dr 4x4 190K and has had a Western 6'6" plow on it its whole life. Plow Mine and my families driveways about 5 total here in Buffalo NY. Can carry that plow up to 80 miles a day sometimes in some pretty bitter snowy conditions.

1999 4.3 Vin W 4X4, I have owned it 3.5 years. When I bought it it had 37000 on it, it just rolled over 120000. I keep up with maintenance, and it runs pretty well.

2000 Blazer 4.3 4x4, 106,000 miles. Purchased new, replaced alternator at 65,000, cat-back exhaust at 75,000, lower intake gasket, lifters and oil lines at 105,000. At 50,000 miles I had the tranny fluid changed by machine, at 100,000 I dropped the pan, changed the filter and added 4 quarts. I plan on taking it somewhere for a machine change soon. Embarrassed to admit that I used Jiffy Lube every 3000 miles from new to 75,000 miles (my wife drove the car then) and they never once lubed the front end. At 75,000 I noticed a squeak in the front end and found the problem. Since then, been doing everything myself and will need to replace the ball joints as soon as the weather permits because of Jiffy Lube's lazy incompetant a$$holes. Runs great, but I'm overdue for plugs/wires/cap/rotor since I'm still using the originals. I'm thinking about throwing in a new radiator this summer too because of BlazerLT's post.

97' Vortec, 205,900 miles. regular maint. i baby it a little, fix what i can and when i can. i have had it for 3 years and it has been the most dependable veihical i have had.

95 vortec with 175,000
This week I am putting plugs, wires, radiator, cap, rotor, shroud in it. I did the tune-up stuff at about 80,000 - 100,000 and bought it at 76,000. I don't believe in doing mainenance,,,, just repairs. It has had a water pump, fuel pump,gas tank, 3 sets of front brakes, 2 different swaybar links, 2 sets of tires, lots of oil and filters, a reuseable air filter

I have a 2000 4.3 vortec I do believe that they only put the vortec in the newer models..Am i Correct? I just turned 100000 last night! no huge problems replaced the alt and the oil cooling lines and regular maint. Used to beat on it, now im kid to it. Out side of the motor i replaced the front dif . That has been the biggest repair i have done...

Mines a replacement Jasper Engine with about 40,000 miles on it...... I abuse it way too much

mines a 95 i got it with 106,999.9 now it has 118,600 ish i change oil every 3000 miles myself i just today replaced motor mounts, manifold gasket, and freeze plugs as well as cap,rotor wires and plugs since i plan to take a long trip this weekend so i needed all the small itty thinsg fixed to ensure a good trip i drive it normilly and not afaid to let it scream every once in a while ... so far just as my 85 blazer was both have been good to me

I have a 96' Vortec, 191,253 miles.. No overhaul, regularly maintained, and ive put atleats 50 thousand of those miles towing or pushing 22's, or doing both... I did have a seal go on my intake manifold, but i knew a guy that hooked me up, also like everyone else i have replaced the fuel cell, and the door pins... i love her...
