faulty indicators and in car heating

hi there. I have a GTI golf lll and when i indicate the other lights start flashing as well and whilst braking the indicators don't work. even the lights on the desh flicker whilst indicating. Once or twice the wrong side indicates when i use the indicator. Checked all the contacts for shorts, but nothing. Also the heating in the car doesn't seemed to work. the fan works well, just no heat. Please help!!!!
