ignition module?

Hi,
About 10,000 miles ago i had this same problem, that my car wasnt getting spark. I replaced wires, coil, rotor,and cap. Still nothing happened. I then changed the control module and fianlly got results.
Recently, i have had cold weather, and the car wouldnt start. So i put in a 800 cca optima battery and it started right up.
I have had the battery in for about 500 miles. Today i went out and the car wouldnt start. After checking to make sure everything was fine, it all checked out and still wont start. I decided to check for spark, and sure enough, no spark.
My question is, Curtis told me that too big of a battery is fine and wont hurt anything, so im ruling that out, but do you think that it is the ignition module again this soon?

The car is an 86 honda accord.

If your model has the coil and module inside the distributor cap, then replace the whole distributor assembly, not just the module. Either the pickup, or the coild can take out a module. I never replace ignition parts piecemeal on these models.

today i got around to testing the ignition module, and there was power at both wires connecting to the module and supposedly that means that it is good. Do you guys know the easiest way to test a coil?

The module is inside the distributor and the coil is outside. Ive been looking at new distributers but i dont have the money for one right now.

You can test a module by hooking up a test light clip to the positive battery terminal. Then remove the thin, negative wire from the coil and hook it pu to the test light.
Then crank the engine. If the distributor and module is good, the test light should flash on and off as you crank the engine. If there is no flash, the dist or the module is bad.
