2003 Sonata. Dashboard Battery Light on?

I just purcahsed a used 2003 Sonata, with 43,000 miles.
Stopped to get gas and when I turned the car over the battery light came on. So I went to the store and got a new battery and put it in. Turned the car over and VIOLA no battery light ... until I turned on the lights ... then the battery light appeared again.
It was late so I went to bed and this morning went out to start the car and NO battery light again?? Turn the lights on ... NO battery light. So I think ok everything is good .... NO

I tried to turn on the rear window defrost and as soon as I hit the button on the dashboard the Battery light came on. I tried to push the button for the front window defrost and the lights switch but the air still blows from the dashboard vents??

Also I noticed that if I rev the car the battery light goes off until it hit's idle again??

What is going on .... I checked the terminal connections and for corrosion, but I don't see anything?

I might be wrong but it sounds like your alernator is not putting out enough amps anymore ... Plus again I am not sure but I think the alternator can be tested at a garage to see if its functioning properly ..............

Cool .... I've actually had a few people tell me that it sounds like the Altenator. I guess I'll have to take it to a shop and get that checked out.

You can always take it to the dealer. Even being 2nd owner, you still have the 5yr, 60k mile warranty.
