Hey,
A few people have been IMing me, asking if there is a snowplough for our little models. You see, it is winter here in the US. The snow is piling up outside. And our little models are stuck indoors..How are they to hit the streets with all this snow? I mean..the plough itself would be easy to make..the mounts, motor, PTO, and hydrolic thingy are the difficult part. I know of one plough however...One of the Unimog kits has one. It is HUGE tho. So..any infos, please feel free to post. Thanks |

Re: Scale plough?
Plow....
And like I said, I think the plow blade is the hardest thing to make: The rest can be done with square and round styrene stock. |

Re: Scale plough?
Oh, maybe some big 1/35 military truck has a big (For it) plow that might look the right scale for 1/24th?

Re: Scale plough?
The plow blade would be, in my estimation, the easiest to make. Just cut some curved ribs out of a sheet of styrene, and glue them to a flat piece of sheet so that it is formed in a curve, then clue down strips along the side of each rib to reinforce the joint and the curvature. Perhaps cutting the flat piece that becomes a curved piece a little long would help, since you could tape it to your workbench in such a manner that it was forced to remain curved while the glue set, and it wouldn't separate from the ribs while it dried.

plough also plow n. 1. A farm implement consisting of a heavy blade at the end of a beam, usually hitched to a draft team or motor vehicle and used for breaking up soil and cutting furrows in preparation for sowing. 2. An implement of similar function, such as a snowplow Seems we have the English spelling vs. American spelling thing going on here...... |

Re: Scale plough?
........ok you know Frank didn't know that for real, he just lucked into it. Well I'll show him. I'll show all of you!!
Well, I guess I'll just mostly show Frank, since I don't talk to anybody else from here on IM. And if he doesn't make with the $$$ soon, I'll show him pictures of me doing bad things to 'his' models: I think that D1 Grand Prix Blitz would be fun to handle, after I went to the bathroom and didn't wash my hands

Maybe one could use a piece of white pvs pipe for a blade...cut the width you need tehn cut a cross section out of it??? unless it is too thick for the scalle size.
