water leak in 1996 gmc suburban

I noticed a soaked carpet in the rear cargo area (and where third row seatrs are) after a recent rain storm. The vehicle has factory cargo doors and roof rack ... as well as front and rear a/c.

I have taken out all the trim and carpeting (was really wet thru) and am looking for the most probable causes where the water could be entering from.

I can also see the water had been coming down from the cargo area and dripping onto the side rails as I see spots on the rug along the middle seat door/carpet interface at the entry moldings.

Has anyone had a similar problem ? It may have been wet prior to the rain -- just noticed it. Could it be something with the rear a/c ?
The weather stripping looks normal on the passenger doors and rear cargo doors.

Water leak in 1995 Yukon

I too, have the same problem in my '95 2-door Yukon. I thought that I had cured the problem by using silicone along the top seam of the rear windows, but it still persists (although not as bad)

Water seems to be coming from the corners where the glass part of the tailgate opens. It seeps in around where the headliner and plastic pillars are and soaks my cargo area and also appears to run down the entire edge of the carpeting up to the front seats.

I am very frustrated, as you must be, and am not looking forward to the cold weather because the water does not have a chance to dry and it begins to stink inside the vehicle.

Let me know if you have found any advice or solutions regarding this!

Thanks

I dont know where your leak is coming from but I have a fail proof way to find it. Not that easy to do but works every time. I used to work for a vehicle manufacture and engineering had the dealers use this.
1 Remove the headliner and upper side panels.
2 Run through a high pressure car wash.
This shows where the leak is coming from.
Hope you find it.

Well I found one of the leaks it comes from the air inlet were the air/ac fan is at, I was thinking of covering one of the holes that is above the fan on the right side of the wiper on the passenger side that will solve one the problems, this past week it was raining hard in L.A and notice that I have one more leak,

Has anybody found another leak on their Yukon?

I'm tired of this shit the only left to do is to take the sealing and trims off.
