Charging/Battery Problem
2nd time this happened to me. My 02 Tahoe won't start, it just clicks when you try to crank it. Then it acts goofy and I can hear the fuel pump run and the engine like get ready to start up again without using the key. I have a new battery (maybe bad cell), or could it maybe be the altinater? After I jump it it seems fine (after I drive for a while). I do have an alarm with remote start on it, also a mp3 player, XM radio ,and GPS all hardwired in so there is a possibility of a drain or short. I was going to get the charging system and battery tested. Anyone else have any ideas?

With all that stuff hooked in, I imagine it takes quite a beating. Go to Walmart and get them to test it, if it's bad you can get a new one with a warranty (3yrs replace, 9 yr pro-rated) that applies at all Walmarts (so basically just about any half-decent sized town in the U.S.). I've got enough amplifiers in mine to cause my battery to go bad about every year or two--usually its just a voltage drop when you apply load (like try to start the engine). So I just jump start it and drive to the nearest Walmart for my free replacement--can't remember the last time I actually had to pay for a new battery.

Re: Charging/Battery Problem
Turns out it was my brake switch. Took a while to find it. It was going on but not enought to light the brake lights.
