Car won't start- PLEASE HELP!!

I have a 1988 F reg toyota corolla GTi, i was drivin along on a cold day and the car shut down and car engine light came on, i tried to push start it in 2nd and even reverse and also pushed it down the hill to get speed but that didnt work, i jump started it but still didnt work, its not the battery or the starter coz the starter is turnin but the engine just wont start, i think its an electrical fault but not exactly sure wot it is...any ideas?......

it could be your ignition coil...but you might also wana check if theres gas...

or you might wanna check if fuel is even pumping

check the timming belt

I agree. Also check to see if you have oil in spark plug areas.
