Building my friends motor...and stroking it.
Ok so i got his motor out and on the stand (it's a 4g63). Tore the head off and the block is bare (there was a noticeable amount of side-to-side play in the crank as well...didn't have a feeler gauge so i don't know exactly how much). Anyway, he purchased a 4g64 crank, rods, pistons (that are either 020 or 060 over, can't remember exactly), and the whole bearing kit along with all new gaskets, balance shaft elimination, and some other goodies. He's going to have to get a new timing belt, crank trigger plate/sensor, timing belt tensioner, and i think there's something else...Ok so here's what needs done. He needs to get it machined somewhere. We don't know what a decent price is to bore out the block and get it all prepped for a stroke. Also when the block IS all prepped, is there anything special that needs to be done since it's being stroked? I read somewhere the bearing bridge needs some machine work also? If someone could just list out everything that needs machined/done correctly, that'd be great.
Thanks for any help,
Steve
