interior noises
Wus good people? I own a '94 d-sol si in jersey. Clean d16 motor, headers, intake, cat-back, gsr rims, lowered, clean body(red), really fun to drive. And the girls think its just too cute. But for the life of me i cant get the annoying creaking & cracking sounds to go away whenever i hit a bump. From the dash(the piece near the bottom of the windshield has some cracks), the top, the doors, even the rear speaker covers. What if anything can be done to solve these problems? I turn my radio up loud to drown out the sounds. But once in awhile i want to be able to listen to my motor humm w/o hearing all that other stuff. All advice is welcomed.

Welcome to owning a Honda. But seriously, it's probably your roof. Check here for a fix. www.teamdelsol.com > Information > How To > #33

Re: interior noises
just gotta get her nice n greasy. I grease EVERYTHING on my car, cause she squeaks BAD. I usually do it at the beginning, middle, and end of summer (in Georgia language that's once in February, once in July, and once in October). Basically, I take the entire interior out, down to the carpeting (all interior panels, door panels, and the dash). Then I rub hondabond silicone grease all along every piece of rubber I find (weather stripping, window garnishes at the bottom). Then I put dialectic grease (cheaper than hondabond), on the interior panels along the edges. I put it wherever they meet metal, wherever they touch plastic, etc. It doesn't stop all squeaks, but it helps.
Just getting into the routine of putting hondabond or generic silicone grease on all your weather stripping once every few weeks helps a LOT, too. |

Re: interior noises
I had to do the same thing... I got sick of greasing it so I did the roof tightening fix it says to do on the team sol how to. you gotta take out the visors and the bracket for the targa in front and then put in washers. it holds the targa down much tighter. Its a little harder to get the roof on afterwards, but it also makes your chassis stiffer.
