95 sunfire dome light and heater control light problems

Ok neither work. The dome light has power goin to it, 12.80 volts and 0.06 amps or 0.6 amps not sure which it was. The clips are kinda loose so maybe its not making contact correctly? Also i touched both the positive and negative with my fingers and it didnt burn me so obviously there isnt enough power to do that, maybe the amperage is too low? The heater control lights dont come on like the rest of the dash and the radio when its night and the lights are on. Do the heater controls not light up?

UPDATE: Ok, the heater controls do light up but not on my car bulbs must be burned out but ill fix it when i get my cd player. The dome light some how either has a short or grounds out to the roof or both (i blew a fuse because it shorted to ground (the roof). It has power even if the door isnt open and the dimmer isnt clicked full so im not quite sure what to do. If i knew how to take the interior roof down without ruining it, i could check the wiring. Please help

Re: 95 sunfire dome light and heater control light problems

supposedly the dealer fixed a bad ground on the roof for me, but now its doing it again, the dome light stays on and the turn signals wont work. Also sometimes when i go to turn on the car i get a click like its a dead battery and then i try again and it starts up.

Could all of this be caused by a bad battery ground?

Checking your grounds is always a good idea when your having these types of problem. On alot of cars your dome light will always have power and you give it a ground thru the headlight swich or the door switches .If its getting a ground before the light you will blow fuses becase the current isn't limited thru the bulb.If you have a ground after the bulb it will stay on all the time. What do you mean by it didn't burn you?
