Question Upgrades and Replacement Advice

Ok so i realized right about 3 hrs ago that I am going to be needing my car alot this summer for an internship I will be doing. It is two weeks before my 3 week winter break and i want to upgrade some parts to make the car both more fuel efficient and longer lasting (along with more powerful if it doesnt detract from either of the other two)
Since I have an intake and my car is a manual here is my educated guess list of shiz to put in my 1999 Nissan Sentra GXE Manual GA16DE

New Clutch (mine slips on the highway if i floor it, so necessary)
Fuel Controller
new 02 Sensors
Strut Bar
Spark Plugs
Spark Plug Wires

in addition I plan on taking out the power steering and ac belts.

now the advice part:
because i'm on a budget I am trying to get everything through hook ups or cheap dealers like E-Bay so i need some advice on brands and such

Clutch:
I am looking to upgrade to a stage 2 or stage 3 clutch and it would either be by XTD or F1 racing. any thoughts on the stage 2 or the stage 3 which is better or whether one brand is better than the other?

Fuel Controller:
Looking to get a Boxer Series Field Simple Fuel Controller directly from Japan. Anyone heard of it or know any good/bad info on it?

Strut Bar:
Basicly i'm gonna get it, anyone have any thoughts on its usefulness in their applications?

Spark Plugs:
I've been looking in Kojima's Garage alot lately, and it seems like the NGK stock Nissan SR20DE plugs are the way to go being that they are platinum and all. Any thoughts?

Plug Wires:
Again, E-bay
I have the choice for about the same price for either NGK Wires or what is called Triple core (from the diagrams looks like it has three separate insulated cores inside the main insulation for a total of 10.2 mm) versus the basic NGK wires?

I appreciate any input and if you have any other ideas for gas mileage and simple power that wont drop my mileage or reliability of the car please feel free to add

Re: Upgrades and Replacement Advice

clutch- go with a stock disc and a heavy duty pressure plate. you can save $$$ because most stage 2 clutches are just that anyways so see what you can find for just a heavy duty pressure plate from an aftermarket company, then go to pep boys or something for the disc, release bearing, pilot bearing(if your car uses one) and alignment tool(if your doing it yourself)

fuel controller-why not get an apex'i SAFC? for your setup itll do everything you need.although i never heard of boxer

strut bar- unless you autox or road race, just get a 10$ one on ebay. trust me. it works well enough for street use.

spark plugs-either platinum or copper work good enough, use NGK or denso(for copper use NGK V-power or denso U-thingy i forgot what its called).
i could go into a novel about copper vs platinum but just know platinum, iridium, ect dont give you "hotter" or "more" spark. they just last longer. thats all.
get the application for YOUR car because the heat range and thread depth might be different than the SR20.

plug wires-unless your going to put 300hp in your motor, get stock O.E. plug wires. no reason to shell out money for almost no benefit.

id get an intake and exhaust. both may help gas mileage.(my '99 sentra w/sr20de went from about 25 mpg to 29-30 mpg after intake and exhaust.)
i also had accel 8.8mm honda civic plug wires(yes they fit) but only because i got them at a 5 finger discount.

there are choices if you dont want a fart can, just look around. if all else fails, do what i did and get a universal muffler and take it to a muffler shop. i got 2.5" piping and muffler installed w/new hangers for like $150

your car reminds me of my sentra. my first car, doing anything i can with the few dollars i had.

correction: after some research, the Boxer Series Field SFC is actually a Skunk2 Field Simple Fuel Controller. any thoughts on this one versus the Apexi S-AFC version 1 (keeping in mind the Skunk2 is about 1/3 of the price)

Re: Upgrades and Replacement Advice

If you're gonna do the clutch, do the flywheel at the same time. Grab a Fidanza. Big power gains and more mpg.

Re: Upgrades and Replacement Advice

With only $300, sounds like you might have trouble doing much more than just the clutch unless you install it yourself. Standard clutch install is about $400.

Re: Upgrades and Replacement Advice

you could try machining your current flywheel to lighten it, that would only be cheaper if you drop and reinstall everything yourself, PITA if you ask me
