Brakes soft as butter

I just replaced the rotors, drums, front and rear pads on my 95 cav and when I brake its not as hard as it should be. If Im doing 100km/h and I slam on the brakes the wheels dont lock or attempt to lock, it just slows down, I dont think thats too safe in an emergency situation. Do my brakes need to be bleeded? The fluid isnt low at all. I dont wanna have to take it to a mechanic for him to charge me 100 bucks for 10 mins work. Any ideas?

I would definately try bleeding them as your next step....make sure the rear shoes are adjusted up so they just start making contact with the drum before brake pedal is pushed also...Good Luck, Fred

I just bleeded them 2 nights ago... well... 1 of them.... the nipple on the drivers side caliper is so rusted and seized that I cant open it to bleed that line.... so... Im just gonna replace the caliper. I tried soaking it in tranny fluid, WD40 and I also tried heating it... I dont wanna force it too much incase I break it... that would really piss me off.

Since I bled the one they are definately harder now, but could be better. Thanks for the reply.
