Rear End?
I am finally putting new gears and a posi in my 90 CV. I got the posi off of ebay for $94 with only 5000 miles on it. The problem I have is I can not decide to either go with 3.73 or 4.10 gears. I do all my driving around town 50 MPH and maybe once a month some highyway about 30 minutes worth of it. I do not care about gas mileage. And I do not care about top speed just off the line. Now what would you recommend for the gear ratio and if there is any draw backs for that ratio? Also with 4.10s I did a search and some people keep sayen that if you go with that gear ratio you have to get a new drive shaft or something to do with the drive shaft now is this true? Also going 4.10 will it hurt the car in anyway? I know that I have to change my speedo gear for the speedometer to read correctly.

Re: Rear End?
If 3.73 & 4.10 are your only choices, I'd go with the 3.73 unless you're drag racing. Either is gonna totally KILL your gas mileage-hope your wallet is deep. I personally prefer the 3.55:1 limited slip available in the later models-gives you the best of both world's. For some pretty decent off-line and kick ass top end, yet reasonable gas mileage, I like the tried & true 3.27:1 in my 99 (Silver Bullit) & 96 (Blue Beast), both P71's.
Just my 2 cents.

Re: Rear End?
See I am not going to lose a lot of gas mileage if any because I have the AOD tranny plus I do not pay for my own gas. But with the AOD you can get awsome gas mileage Because I know a person with the same year stock car running a custome 4.27 gear and he gets 15 MPG city and 21 MPG highway
