JWT popcharger or CAI?
I have an 06 sentra 1.8 LE. I'm debating to either get the popcharger or cai? maybe even a short ram. What's best performance wise?
THANKS! |

Just wait until your waranty is over and swap in an SR20VE with an SR20 FWD trans.

Re: JWT popcharger or CAI?
A pop charger IS a short-ram. As far as choosing....it's really very simple. Cold air = bit more hp, Pop charger = better sound. The pop charger filter design is meant to be coupled with the oem intake tubing. Putting it on the end of a CAI will be exactly the same as using a full CAI kit w/ it's own filter...Unless it's from eBay.

Re: JWT popcharger or CAI?
JWT filters flow better than aem, nismo, or injen, using the filter will squeeze out maybe an extra hp over just a CAI, its been discussed as the difference in breaking 200whp or not, a few guys have hit 198-199 NA

Re: JWT popcharger or CAI?
Can't use a pop charger? Damn, you should take a pic of your motor sometime. Sounds weird.

Re: Re: JWT popcharger or CAI?
yeah i know what you mean, i have the 06 sentra SE.
im gonna get a CAI pretty soon, and after the air filter box, there's some sort of elbow down to the right side wall. It looks almost impossible to get to, and that's where the filter for the CAI goes i believe. So how the hell would someone do that???? |

Re: JWT popcharger or CAI?
you have to beat the shit out of it, i had to remove that to install my CAI, you have to remove the gravel guard and there are clips on the underside of it that come off, it goes in 2 peices

Re: JWT popcharger or CAI?
Couldn't you just rest the pop charger's filter housing in the bottom half of the air box? I mean, disconnect the box from the intake tubing, then connect the pop charger to the tubing and rest it on top of the firewall crap(or whatever it is)?

Re: Re: JWT popcharger or CAI?
Ok, so based on what you guys are saying, it's better off putting the popcharger on the stock air filter box, and not modding anything? .
I mean, if that's the case for more sound/hp, that's the way to go. Or should i get a CAI from hotshot.com and install it. How hard can it possibly be to install a CAI on an 06sentra SE? |
