Torsion bar
I need to replace the drivers side torsion bar. The stealership sells them for $220 (last time I checked) and the only website that I found was gmpartsdirect that sells them for $180 (not sure how much the S/H is). Does anyone know of another site that may have them cheaper?

Yes, it's bent. I know it would be much cheaper to get one at the boneyard, but I would rather get a new one than one that has who knows how many miles on it.

I don't really think that they'll ever wear out. And I really can't picture them braking unless the truck was hit Hard
But if they do you might want to consider replacing them both wih a matched set. |

I can see some merit in the matched set deal but I do not believe you absolutely have to do both. Funny thing over the years everyone says shocks, springs etc only do match sets. I know 2 people at work one had a front gas shockabsorber go bad on a 2001 Chevy Tahoe dealer would only change one under warrenty. If you walked in with non warrenty they would make you do both. My other freind had a leaf pack crack on a Ford F350 and they would only replace one side under warrenty.

I only plan on changing the drivers side one now because the adjuster screw is screwed in about a 1/2 inch or so more that the passenger side just to maintain an even ride height.

Why is it that everyone says tosion bars never wear out, but coil springs are supposed to be replaced after like 75,000 miles. Why does one type of spring wear out and the other doesnt?
On my truck the drivers side is all the way in and the passengers side is not even half way in. Nice. |

Yet I don't think that the torsions on my 85 have ever been adjusted.
It actually sits a little higher in the front than the back, and level side to side. |

I kinda need a quick answer to this. Does anyone know if Blazers, years '94 to '98, take the same size torsion bar? I believe that the crossmember (or maybe just the crossmember mounts) changed from '94 to '95, but are the t-bars the same?
