Re: Switching Fuel Injection to Carb
Welcome to Automotive Forum.
Well you'll need a universal electric fuel pump. Did the dealer give you another 2.8L? Just give us as much info as possible including auto or standard. And the most important question. How did you get the dealer to GIVE you a motor for an 83? I want to try to get them to give me a 350 now. And here will be a huge lineup behind me. |

Re: Switching Fuel Injection to Carb
I am in the process of switching an 87' TBI motor to a carb motor (and also from v-belt to serpentine belt). So far so good ... i just switched the carb and intake and yes ... I am looking at an external electric fuel pump, probably aftermarket. I have put the project on hold till my 2 week Xmas holidays ( I was getting bored and now working on my other hot rod project).
One I found was that the 87' motor did not have a mechanical fuel pump shaft hole in the block ( maybe because it was a 4x4 blazer motor). So far everything is going back together fine but I haven't turned it over yet. I will keep everyone posted on the results.
