1997 Crown Victoria PI
I am looking at purchasing a 97 Crown Vic PI. i was wondering if there is anything i should be looking for, as in engine problems, suspension, anything that usually goes wrong.
i also was wondering about a couple things on the police interceptor package, ive heard that they have a 200Amp Alternator, is this true, also what other improvements o thay have over a normal crown vic? i havent been able to find much information on the web. And is the '97 model OBDII compliant, it should be but im jsut checking. |

Quote:
The 200 amp alternator was not commonly available until 2003 or 2003 on most CVPI's. 97's had a 130 amp stock. Yes it is OBDII compliant. If the vehicle has had good routine maintenance it should be reliable for quite a while. Good luck.

Re: 1997 Crown Victoria PI
There is a company in Virginia that makes a retro-fit 200 amp alternator that will bolt on. I don't know the name or site though. If I can get our parts dept. to loosen up on info, I will post it for you.
