How long has this been happening? Does it have to rain for it to get wet inside? What year is this car? Have you had the windshild replaced? Is the windshild leaking around the edges? Does your car smell musty?

I'll check back when you post back on these questions.

Regards

Dan

Its a 98 Lesabre Custom. I just bought it used last month. It seems to be that this happens mostly when theres rain. is this a simple fix or is there intvensive labor involved?

Well there are a couple of ares that water can enter the car. What is the condition of your windshild? My 97 was pitted and I had it replaced (if yours is getting to the stage that it's hard to see because of the pits, you might to consider replacing it. Let the person know that you're getting water inside and to watch out for any probable cause for the water when their doing the work.

At the same time, I had my 95 Windstar's windshild pulled and left out so I could fix the rust that had gotten under the adhesive they use to hold in the windshild. There were two places (both 6 to 12 inches lone) on the top that the windshild wasn't even attached to the body because of the rust. Durring a hard rain, (I had to stop because I couldn't see) my feet were getting wet.

This is just one location that water could be getting in. I would also check to see if water flows out of the area just below the windshild where the wipers mount up and where the heater gets it's outside air. If this area's drain is pluged with crud, the water will build up and overflow in to the car's interior.

Just some thoughts.

Regards

Dan

Hi guys thanks for helping me out. I did notice that the windsheild does not have a single chip or scratch in it which leads me to believe that the windshield was replaced when i bought the car. Perhaps it wasnt sealed correctly. Just a thought. Maybe this weekend i will take a look at it. anyone know how to get uncer the plastic cowl where the wipers are?

Screw location? clips? also....does anyone know if this car has a cabin air filter under the cowl that should be changed a few times per year?

any info or links on this part of the car would be of alot of help. thanks for all of your time. Pete
