remote door locker thing

hey guys.. im looking at a camaro, that i might buy (acually, im pretty sure im going to buy it)

It has an aftermarket remote door locker/unlocker. the guy at the dealer kept trying to press the trunk button, but it wouldnt pop open.

If i got a remote, how would i program it to work for the car? There is an aftermarket radio in it, so i cant do it through there (because im pretty sure thats how they program them.. or one of the ways at least)

thanks.
