97 Yukon will not start.

Hello to all that view this thread:
I have been summoned to find out why this 97 Yukon will not start.
The truck had begun to idle rough and idle erratically. While driving, the Yukon would not go over 20 mph. When the truck pulled into the parking lot it died. Waited a while ( I am not sure how long), the truck fired and was able to be driven home. Owner changed fuel filter. When I get there.found he had put it on backwards .

Once reinstalled, I check for fuel at the "bleeder" fitting on the line- had pressure. I checked for spark-got spark. Poured a little fuel down "throttle body", sputtered/ tried to start. I am not familiar with the injector set up on this motor (5.7) heck can't see it Bypassed the fuel pump relay and heard a steady hum/ Tried to start, no go. I read some past threads about the fuel pumps and see there have been quite a few replacements. Is this the possible cause or maybe something else?

Any and all replies are greatly appreciated and thank you in advance.

Chuck Jr.

Re: 97 Yukon will not start.

Your MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR might be out. Check your alternator it might not be charging your battery aswell.
