LT1 into 1996 Silverado 1500?

Has anyone done a similar swap? I have access to an LT1 with all accessories and full engine wiring harness with ECU. I'm trying to find more info on how much trouble this project will be. Would the LT1 harness plug right into my firewall?

I am in the process of putting a 1994 LT1 from a Roadmater in a 1992 CK1500 WT. No it will not plug in to the firewall. My truck had a 4.3 liter V6 in it and this is a wiring nightmare. I have had to searce Fort Worth TX from one car dealership to another to find service manuals that old to make copies of to try to find wiring diagrams. Have you or anyone done or finished a simular swap? The engine compartment of my 1992 pick-up looks a lot like the engine compartment of the Roadmaster. I had to make a new mount for the A/C compresser. The engine would not set between the fram rails without this modification. I still do not have the right wiring diagram for the LT1 wiring harness. If can get the right diagrams I will be able to finish this. I can use any help I can get.

I am putting a 1994 lt1 into a 1992 wt 1500 and I had to get the wiring harness from the dash as well as the engine harness. The dash harness has another computer that runs the L 4/60 h transmission. I have wiring diagrams copies from a GM publications for 1988-1997 ck pick-up, suburban, and Crew cab. get me a fax number and I can send you what I have and you can see if it will help. About 50 pages, also have 1994 lt 1 5.7 Roadmaster copies. Be sure you don't have the 4.3 liter lt1 that came out in 1992-1993 big body cars. the only way to tell the differance is to run the numbers off the block or if you know that it came out of a trans am, z28, or formular 500. the 4.3 v8 had a cross over sigle exhaust from the factory. the 5.7 came with true dual exhuast from the factory. I got that information from one of the factory manuals I found.
