4.3 blazer, and when i gun it..

When i give my truck gas, it sounds like it's working alot harder then it has to be. Like when i am turning in an intersection in front of a car, you gun it to get out of the intersection, well my truck seems to make alot of noise but not move as fast as it sounds. Now i have heard people putting chain engine mounts on the sides of their engine bars to restrict the twisting the v6 does when under pressure, i am sure this is what is happening, any one else have this problem, and are there any fixes?

It could be also that your engine has to now turn 22s instead of the stock 15s.

This sucks power bigtime.

22's! I wouldn't expect your engine or tranny for that matter to last very long.

Re: 4.3 blazer, and when i gun it..

No, the car runs perfect, nothing is wrong any other time, and it's not like the car doesn't haul ass when it does make the sound i was just curious to see if anyone else tried to fix this problem or even had it. I run the 22's only last summer, for under 10 thousand miles. I'm saying like, it doesn't die, it just sounds like the engine is cranking or twisting and not getting the full power... No one else has this problem, i am sure that it is because of the high mileage, but i do drive like a saint, i try not to beat it up, now... Don't hate on the 22's, it's not like it is that must of a difference because a stock 15, and a 22. the weight difference in about 20 pounds. It's all good, just thought i would ask.

I actually got better gas mileage with the 22's on the highway, go figure...

No hate for the 22s, just saying it will take more power to spin them.

Also, ever done a tuneup?

The bosch plugs could be your problem, they suck ass in a vortec.

Ever change the fuel filter? Cap? Rotor? Wires?

The worst plugs in the world. Go with AC delco Platinum.

Re: 4.3 blazer, and when i gun it..

Trust me, the plugs more than likely could be the issue.

trust me, bigger wheels mean a heavier wheel to rotate.

It does hog a little performance.

Re: 4.3 blazer, and when i gun it..

I just thought I'd chip in and say those bosch 4s are complete and utter shite. The previous owner put em in 10k before he sold me my truck, and I drove another 5k on em before I couldn't drive anymore. Imagine a BIG honkin hunk of carbon stuck between one of those prongs and the electrode, and you have my #3 plug..

Night and day difference once I threw rapid fires in.

If the engine sounds like it is running really hard and not going anywhere, any chance it could be the transmission slipping? If doing a tune up and makeing sure everything else is good first, but thats what it sounds like to me
