Question D15 Motor Problems

have a 90 Honda Civic DX Hatchback w/ a d15 engine. i waited too long to do a tune up and now that i did the tune up, the engine vibrates very bad and turns off on its own. the car has gas and new spark plugs, sp wires, distributor cap and rotor. i drive it around and as i drive it it loses compression. i check the spark plugs and all the plugs r dirty filled wit fuel. i changed the spark plugs and the same thing happened. what can i do to fix this problem? am i better off just gettin another motor? also, everytime i go on the highway or rev the engine, the engine burns the oil everytime i drive it hard. i always have to put oil berfore going on the highway or when i rev the engine alot. that i need to get new piston rings and new bearings. and i was told that i should get a new value cover gasket and seals. i checked the old gasket and it looked fine and i put high temp silicone around it to prevent any leaks. any suggestions???

Re: D15 Motor Problems

i had a d15b7 in my del sol before i swapped it out. i know if your like me you try to get every lil uumph out of it but that can kill it very quick. Is there any smoke coming out of the exhaust if so what color? what kind of miles do you have on it? there maybe alot of carbon built up on the pistons too. that would dirty the spark plugs. did you do a compression check if you did what number did you come up with? bad rings will cause you to burn oil and in my mind its an easy fix but not worth it. i would do a compression check. where are you located cuz i still have my d15b7w/ tranny with 94k miles on. i just need to dig it out of my brothers garage. if your lookin for a little more power and a pretty easy fix i would just say swap in a d16. i picked up my d16 with a tranny up for $150. running condition
