Angry I lose my Bass with my Type R Subwoofer!

Hey guys, I am using a Hifonics BRUTUS BX605 A/B CLASS MONO AMP to power 1 Alpine Type R sub. Eventually I will lose my bass until I turn off the car for awhile. The guys at the car audio store told me that my amp is overheating; so they turned the bass down on my amp. It fixed the problem, but it just doesn't sound as good. How much stronger of an amp do I need to keep the bass going continuously on long road trips?

I am thinking of upgrading in a year anyway. Maybe get (2) 12" Type X subs; does anyone have any opinions on these? And obviously I'll get a new amp to power those 2 bad boys.

I also want to know how I could make my speakers louder. Right now I have Alpine SPS-170A 6 1/2 speakers for the front of my car and Alpine SPS-690A 6X9 speakers for the back of my car. I am using an Alpine MRP-F240 amplifier to power these speakers. But I am still not satisfied with the volume produced. Will a stronger amp give me more juice to get the volume I desire? Any specific suggestions that will help me? Thanks.

PS- In case you were wondering I have an Alpine CDA-9851 head unit.

Wattage

WHen you look at the specs for the alpine type-r look at what the continous power handling is and get one that is at least that much, buit one that wont pushit continously. this should fix your problem. mine would have the same problem but luckily i dont drive long enough for that to happen.

A MRD M500 should give you enough power for that sub. as for the interior speakers try the MRV-F450.

I have these on two alpine S 1241D's and it pushes great

Thanks for the info. I was looking for some more information on crutchfield.com, but they don't have the MRD 500, they only have model numbers M605 and M1005. Are those models comparable?

And the MRV-F450 will power my speakers just fine? It should make everything considerably louder?

sorry, I haven't posted in a long time. The amp is mounted on the back of the rear seats. If I buy another sub, do I need to have a seperate sub to power each one? Or Is there one amp that is strong enough to power both of them?

well, i'm using a BX1205D with 2 Type R 12s and it works fine and sounds good. I need a bigger box though.

Really? You don't lose your base even while your driving long distances and playing your system loud? I'll look into getting one when I buy my second 12 " type R. It is very annoying when I'm really enjoying my music, then I lose my base.

yup, went 300+ miles and over 6 hours constant with it turned up except when I stopped for gas and bathroom breaks and never skipped a beat. I do need to pick up a cap though.
