12'' Resonant Engineering XXX any good?

I have heard that with one of these, you can get 110dB, is it true? I am seriously thinking about buying one. What would the biggest, best amp be for SPL for this sub?

i've heard most people run the xxx's with planet audio amps. i was thinking either the vx2200d http://www.planetaudiousa.com/home/c...um=3&catNum=16 or the bb1250.1 http://www.planetaudiousa.com/home/c...&catNum=15#top would the 2200 be too much for the one 12? what are your opinions? anything better?

Why would you put a shitty amp like Planet Audio to a beast like the RE XXX? Go with something that is quality. A big monoblock Kicker or MTX amp would make that sub sound killer.

I would go with this puppy right here

http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...roduct_ID=2666

An RE XXX would love every bit of power from that thing.

wouldnt that be too much though? because i thought the way to do it was match the rms of teh sub and get that same wattage of peak from the amp.....i dont wanna blow a nice sub like that..

They come in DVC 2ohm configuration. So you could either parallel it to 1 ohm or series it to 4 ohms. You would wire the VCs in series to make 4 ohm and be feeding it 1250 watts that's still underpowering it. For some reason I thought I remembered teh XXX only handling 1000 watts

you kids and cheaper...don't know anything about quality these days. This amp would do it also, you wire the VCs in parallel to 1 ohm and be feeding it 1600 watts with this amp.

Just to let you know, I have the 1200 watt version of this amp feeding two Alpine 12" Type Rs and I love it. I almost got the 1600 watt amp and 3 Type Rs, but I figured that would be overkill and didn't know if my alt would handle it. Even with a 110 amp alt, i still get dimming with my 1200 watt.

One thing I would make sure of is that your alternator can handle an amp that big. With my old civic I was frying alternators left and right because it was only a 65 amp alt and I was using an 800 watt Audiobahn amp at the time.

I personally had a xxx subs with a comp series audiobahn 1200 or 1400 watt amp and it killed I was never able to turn my radio up all the way because it kept popping my trunk( I ended up getting a heavt duty latch) but even after that it started to hurt my ears.get a nice 1200-1500 watt amp on it and I am sure you can knock stuff off the wall from ur bass
