1997 Z24 Fuel rail removal
I have a 1997 Z24. I'm trying to pull the fuel rail to replace o-rings. Of course the Haynes manual is a POS and looks and describes nothing like the fuel rail I have. It talks about a quick disconnect, but my car does not have that.
It appears that on the drivers side of the rail, the fuel line and the rail screw together with two nuts, aproximately 15/16" and 1" respectively(they're probably metric, but I measured them standard). I tried getting adjustable wrenches in there to disconnect, but it's a tight fit and they won't budge apart. The one inch nut on the rail side turns easily inside the rail, but I cannot get the nut on the line side to turn counter to the rail side to screw apart. I don't want to round off the nuts. I went to the local store to see if I could get flare wrenches in those sizes, and they don't carry them that large.
Am I right about this or do they come apart some other way? I don't want to go buy expensive flare wrenches if that's not the way to do this. Also, anyone know the actual size of those nuts? They're probably metric not standard, but I have no way of measuring them in metric.
Thanks for any help.
