Exclamation 1992 Cutlass Supreme SL 3.4L DOHC stalls

I bought a 1992 cutlass supreme sl 3.4l for $700 and since then it has always stalled. i used to ride in the car before i bought it and it never had this problem.the car stalls most frequently when the car comes to a complete stop and the cars rpm's occassionally lope. i have read to check the fuel pressure/system, the battery, the tcc, the ttc,the cps, check for vacuum leaks, check my coils and modules, the o2 sensor, and probably a few im forgetting. i was hoping someone could suggest a plan to fix the stalling by coming up with a troubleshooting list which lists in order of price and relevance the neccessary tests and repairs i should do to correct the problem. i know this is a hard an excrutiating task but if anyone has the will and knowledge to help me i appreciate it very much as im just a broke college student. also i must mention i posess a new o2 sensor, a new timimg belt, and new engine head gaskets. the only other problems with the car is a broken oil pressure sensor and rusted rotors and calipers in the back. Someone please help me!!!!!!!!!!

1991 - 1993 Gm 60*V6 engines (cutlass, lumnina, grand prix, regal) were diagnosed as having bad injectors straight from the factory, that cause what is termed "Phantom Stalling".

It had something to do with the injectors electrical load and the pulse duration. Unfortunately, I don't think a recall was ever done. Most owners who swing a wrench, have replaced the injectors with aftermarket injectors, or have gotten injectors from a '96 and up GM 3.4l engine. In most cases this stops the phantom stalling.

Your loping or hunting idle may be due to a dirty idle speed control passage. Carbon clogs the passage and causes your idle speed motor to hunt for a stable idle.

If you decide to go with stock GM injectors, be sure and get injectors from a 3.4l DOHC engine not a 3.4l OHV (3400), the flow rates on the 3400 are lower and will drive your computer nuts trying to compensate for the decreased injector duration. You'll be running extremely lean and your 3.4 won't like you!

Oh and before you ask the question, "couldn't I just get larger injectors for a performance boost while fixing the issue?"

Nope.

Not unless you plan on running boost. and boosting a 3.4 dohc is no small task.

I had a similar problem with my 93 Cutty ragtop 3.4, it was the Idle Air Control valve. Put a new one on, problem solved. Cheap and easy fix.

IAC is located on top of throttle body and held on by two torx screws.

If u need help i have extensively researched the topic and have lots of info but then u need to look at that info and choose the best options for you and your budget. abyone who has owned one of these beasts knowss the power roar and comfort that come with it. i am considering doing a complete overhaul and keeping this monstrosity because few cars can match it and very few give this car its due respect. no offence to nobody, but i love blowin the doors off some 17 year old gino's honda whatever with $10,000 in mods. it just goes to show if you dont work for your money u dont appreciate it.
Peace.

as for the power these 3.4's put out is unbelieveable.it is bad when i can keep up with my buddy's 99 gt mustang.once u get the problem fixed u will see what i am talking about.mine shifts from first at just about 6000 rpms
