Router problem

I have earthlink cable (not their dsl), and everything has been fine for the past few years. For the past 4 days though, my computer (and my families) have all been running really slow (1.58mb/sec or slower). But if we hook up one of our computer directly to the modem, we get 5mb/sec. No settings were changed on any computers or on the router. We then played with the settings on the router and reset it (well I should say my dad and bro messed with it, not me), and it's still the same crap.

So I'm wondering if anyone has had this problem before. Or if anyone has any suggestions (like getting a new router or things to try)?

Re: Router problem

Ok nevermind. My dad got my brothers spare router to test out and the connection is working fine now. So obviously it's just a shitted out router.
