trany fluid change... now im hearing noises!

ok, so i just changed my transmission fluid and filter on my 1993 GMC yukon.
all went well, there are no leaks, but what does concern me is the running water noise that it makes sometimes when i am accelerateing from a stop, or reving in neutral....
i can't hear it when reving high, or maybe its muffeled by the engine noise...

also, second ?
my thermostat reads the tick inbetween 210 and 100
is this normal?
i just changed my thermostat, because i assumed that all trucks are supposed to run at 210.

Where is the noise coming from? Does it sound like it is coming from the glovebox? If so, that is air in the cooling system.

Re: trany fluid change... now im hearing noises!

I'm with 2000CAYukon on this one, the rushing noise is almost certainly the coolant not the transmission.
Look closely to see if the heater core is leaking even a small amount, this will cause it to aspirate air when its parked rather than leak fluid.
Sometimes the tanks on either end of the heater core need to be crimped, the crimping done during assembly sometimes works loose. The plastic panel below the heater core comes off, and the core is very easy to see and get at. Watch out the panel may be full of leaked coolant.

I had the same problem and it was from the resevior. It had low coolant and it would rush in there. Filled it up and have had no more problems. My truck also runs between 100 and 210.

What do you mean, "between 100 and 210"? Once my truck reaches normal operating temperature, the temp gauge more or less hovers around midpoint; matter of fact--according to the CarChip I plugged into the OBDII port, the temp sensor reads anywhere between 198 and 208--again, once the truck has fully warmed up.

Lets see, I'm referring to the first post in which the guy said his truck ran at the tick mark between 100 and 210. That's great your truck runs at 210, I was just telling the guy he's not the only one with a truck that runs around 174 (that's what my scan tool read as the temp). Since then I have replaced the thermostat (it was stuck partially opened) and mine too runs at around 210 (once it's warmed up).

Okay, I got it...I was just saying that it would be a bit odd that, once a normally-operating truck (I mean, like ours) is fully warmed up, a normally-functioning temperature gauge shouldn't be reading anywhere between 100 and 210--w/ the OEM t-stat, it should hover more or less right around 210 (give or take a few degrees) just like the original poster was expecting...maybe except if you were in freezing temps, in which case it might read another tick or two lower. For the original poster's temp gauge to be reading 155 (I assumed that's what he meant by saying "the tick in between 210 and 100", and also assumed that this reading was after his truck had warmed up sufficiently) even after having changed his thermostat--that is not normal...not unless he stuck in a 150-degree thermostat...LOL!!!
