Transmition Problems

I have a 1986 Vw scirocco 8 valve. my transmition went out almost 3 weeks ago and is still sitting at the garage i can't find a good used transmition for the scirocco. Will any other transmitions work out of any other cars except for gulfs,rabbits, and jettas.

And if there was a tranny that fit the rocco thats not VW i wouldnt install it on my car

As long as it's from a VW 4cyl front wheel drive 80-95 model yes it'll work and bolt right on. I'd use one from a 93 16V just my preference.

A gemini racing gearbox would work if you have $10,000.

No offense to the OP, but not being able to find a tranny might have something to do with searching online for a "transmition" vs. a "transmission."

Dunno, nobody else mentioned it, but it seems obvious to me.
